Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick (2.66 ERA) got the win, while Brian Moehler (5.47 ERA) took the loss for the Astros. Pedro Martinez went 4 innings for the Phillies, allowed 6 hits, 2 home runs and 3 earned runs with one walk and 2 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Phillies was Chad Durbin (4.52), Scott Eyre (1.57), and Brad Lidge (7.34). The Astros’s starter Brian Moehler went 4.1 innings, allowed 6 hits, no home runs and 7 earned runs with 3 walks and one strikeout. Wesley Wright (5.88), Sammy Gervacio (2.29), Tim Byrdak (3.32), and Jose Valverde (2.04) also pitched for the Astros. With the win, Kendrick’s record goes to 3-1, while Moehler drops to 8-12.
In addition to the 10 runs, the Phillies put up 9 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Phillies, as nobody managed more than 2 hits.
